Entrepreneurship And Gig Economy

Mostly everyone will have a dream to start a business which will be now or in the near future. So who is an Entrepreneur? Traditionally a person who starts and runs an enterprise or business is called as entrepreneur. Yes it is, but not exactly that a person just wishes to start a business, so he started a business. An Entrepreneur is a person who solves a problem. But to start a company for that need some money and time. So we cannot go and work in a company for full time and earn some money then start a company which will take more time.

For many years in our economy there are two mainly two types Full-Time workers and Part-Time workers. But recently a new type jobs comes in to the people lifestyle which GIG ECONOMY.

What is GIG Economy? A Gig economy is a free market system which has temporary positions where organization has contract with independent workers for short term. These independent workers would get the money for that work. In short work for that money and money for that work. Like Freelancing, Temp-jobs and Jobs in the sharing economy and more…

Let’s take our startups as example Uber which is largest taxi company, owns no vehicles. OYO an accommodation provider which does not own real estate, Swiggy which is India’s largest food ordering app but does not own any restaurants. The workers in these companies are independent workers who come inside the Gig Economy.

This Gig economy is considered to be growing faster and larger in the future because it offers freedom of employment, flexible hours, higher compensation, concentrated workforce, lower cost to the company and many more features.

India is also has tremendous growth for the gig economy. It is estimated that India has 15 Million Freelancers mainly in the urban areas. Some experts believe that number of freelancers in India would double every five years.

As I mentioned earlier about traditional entrepreneur who starts a business on his own risk and rewards of the venture. The freelancer and independent workers are going to be the next new age entrepreneurs. For starting a company we need platform, capital and targeted workforce which are all available for the new age entrepreneurs.
