Govt Has Selected 7 Companies To Test Drone Based Deliveries

Many tech- delivery companies are now focusing on drone based delivery system and want to use this system in India. Now Govt has selected Zomato, Swiggy, Dunzo and 4 other companies to test the drone-based deliveries. The world might their first public drone-delivery four months ago, but India is taking baby step towards the same. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has selected 7 firms out of 34 applicants which are food and delivery companies Zomato, Swiggy and Dunzo, medical delivery providers Zipline and Redwing, and large enterprise like Tata Advanced Systems and Honeywell. It has rejected 27 applicants because of incomplete information. Zipline and Redwig said that they are waiting for the approvals from the DGCA which has not made these details public yet. The person quoted that “ we’re hoping that they will grant us approvals in the next month, which will allow us to begin work on setting up our solutions and hopefully begin flying by January next year ...

Tesla acquires computer vision startup DeepScale , a silicon valley startup that uses low wattage processors to power more accurate computer vision for automated vehicles. Google launches Google Play Pass

Google launches Subscription services for apps and games. It will be taking on Apple Arcade which is set to release on November month. But Google is one step ahead by launching its subscription model named as Google Play Pass. It has the similar offering price as Apple which is starting at $4.99 (₹354 approx) a month. So the Google Play Pass will offer access to games as well as apps which will be free of ads, in-app purchases, and upfront payments. Google says that it will be adding new content every month. But the service is available to US as for now and it will also offer 10-day free trail. User's who avail the Play Pass before October 10 will be available for $1.99/month for the first year and thereafter $4.99/month. Google Kormo App

Google is going to launch its job listings service in india. The app is named as Kormo App. The app will be launched on Sept 20 at a Google event in New Delhi. This app will help user's who are looking for jobs which are posted on online. User's will be able to build digital CV for free and can enrol in training sessions through the app. This app will display open job listings in the city. Google will partner with employers from large companies to small or medium enterprises to include their jobs in their Korma app which will make users to directly apply from the app. In that app there is tab called Learn Tab which will give free training in the form of videos, articles and courses based on individual interest.

Zomato is an Indian food delivery startup which provides information, menu's and user-review of restaurants. Now Zomato is entering into Video streaming services. It is going to compete with Netflix and Amazon prime. On sept 16, Zomato will launch its video service which will focus on Food in the name of ' Zomato Originals Binge Routine '. It will produce 18 original shows over the next 3 months. These video will have the duration of 3-15 minutes and will be available in hindi and english, which will revolve around food recipes and sneak peek of restaurants. Alibaba Entry To India's E-commerce Market

Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba is set to enter into the Indian e-commerce market by using UCWeb browser app. The company is planning to build a recommendation engine for existing e commerce platform in India. Alibaba is planning to partner with e-commerce firms like Flipkart and PayTM Mall for the recommendation engine and this service would launch within this year. UCWeb Global Business Vice President Huaiyuan Yang quoted that “ We have Alibaba’s e-commerce gene in us. We are actually trying to start innovative business model related to e-commerce. We are going to launch a new e-commerce product in India this year. The recommendation engine is expected to be a platform that would showcase products from different e-commerce platforms for people to browse through it.
